Anna Woźnicka

Anna Woźnicka is a vocalist, music arranger, choral conductor, and pianist who comes from a musically accomplished family. Her artistic path has been shaped by a deep engagement with diverse musical traditions — from classical European repertoire to the living heritage of Jewish musical culture.

She graduated from the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw and was an Erasmus scholar at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Vienna. She subsequently completed postgraduate studies in Administration and Management at the Warsaw School of Economics. In 2014 she received an award for social contributions to the Chopin University.

On stage she has performed with prestigious ensembles including the Warsaw Chamber Opera choir, the Arnold Schoenberg Choir (under Nikolaus Harnoncourt), and the Wiener Singakademie, collaborating with conductors including Sir Simon Rattle, Kent Nagano, and Valery Gergiev.

Leadership & Founding

From 2014 to 2021 Anna led Vox Varshe (formerly Vocal Varshe), an ensemble that won the Grand Prix at the 21st Polish Radio Folk Festival — New Tradition and took 3rd prize in the Folk Phonogram of the Year 2018.

In 2021 she founded YAEL, an artistic space where Jewish music is juxtaposed with traditional sounds and patterns from other musical cultures. The project invites musicians specialising in ethnic music and improvisation alongside artists with classical training and synagogue music expertise.

Bramy Nieba (2018)

Released through Requiem Records, Bramy Nieba ("Gates of Heaven") was created with Vocal Varshe feat. Jacaszek. Inspired by Frank Stella's abstract reliefs and pre-war photographs of wooden synagogues, it is a meditation on memory, sacred architecture, and cultural heritage.
